Things To Do Around Hurghada.
In and around Hurghada and El Gouna there are so may things to do you will never fit them all into your holiday. Here are a few ideas to enhance your stay in Hurghada.
As Hurghada is situated on the shores of the Red Sea water based activities are extremely popular with diving at the top of a lot of visitors lists. Most hotels and resorts have diving schools or have companies they can recommend. Both Hurghada Marina and El Gouna Marina have lots of dive companies so do your research and enjoy the marine life of the Red Sea.
Sandwiched between the clear blue waters of The Red Sea and the Desert, Hurghada is the ideal place for a Desert safari. You can choose between a few hours to a full day to explore and many offer trips by Quad Bikes and Jeeps but also you can travel at a more leisurely pace by Camel or Horse. A lot of companies offer family safaris where you can experience a half day of riding in the desert by all forms of transport followed by a meal and then a Bedouin dance show. This usually costs around 300L.E and is good value for money.
With the Red Sea on your doorstep fishing is excellent and you can catch anything from small sport fish up to Big Game fish such as Marlin, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi and huge Tuna. There are a lot of boats that go out from various marinas in Hurghada and a good place to start is GEM Travel at the entrance to the marina who can organise all types of fishing trips.
Away from the tourist attractions of Hurghada the city itself has lots of interesting buildings and a city tour is always an excellent way to learn more about the city and its culture. These tours are usually in the evening and usually include refreshments in a local restaurant.

Horse Riding – Many horse riding schools operate around Hurghada. You can ride in the desert or even along the beaches and in the sea.
Water Parks – There are many water parks around Hurghada which are sure to keep the whole family entertained and they offer excellent value for money.
Hurghada Grand Aquarium – Situated in the centre of Hurghada this is the ideal place to view the marine life of The Red Sea while keeping your feet firmly on dry land.
El Gouna Go Karting – If you fancy yourself as the next Max Verstappen then here is the place to visit. No need to book usually just turn up and ride. These really are fast go karts so hold onto your hats.
With its 40 miles of long sandy beaches and 364 days a year sun it makes the ideal Winter destination. The cost of living is much lower than that of Europe and with it’s freindly welcoming locals it makes the ideal long stay destination.
